Join Ben Hunt, Matt Zeigler and Jack Forehand as we break open the news to reveal the Nudging language behind the headlines. Media bias is real, but not in the way you think.
In this episode of Breaking News, we explore a range of topics, from the lack of media coverage surrounding the billions of dollars funneled to Donald Trump through his social media company, to the pervasiveness of gambling and speculation in our society. We discuss the embedded wage-price inflationary environment and its potential impact on our fragile, optimized systems. Additionally, we delve into the creative process behind Kelly Clarkson’s hit song “Since U Been Gone” and how it relates to the construction of pop stars, media stories, and political narratives.
As with many other things, Trump sees what someone else did and then he takes it to its logical endpoint. He did it with the celebrity presidency that preceded him and now he’s done it with an unprofitable tech(ish) company. The market and the CNBC crowd set the precedent that companies don’t need to ever make money for them to be ludicrously valuable. If you spend a decade priming investors to believe that fundamentals are for suckers and that stocks are just tokens that represent your id then eventually someone is going to take that permission structure and exploit it beyond anything you could have imagined.
